| The 21st century is an era of political multi-polarization, economic globalization and culture diversification. Inevitably, China has been intensively and widely exposed to the rest of the world and China's active role in the world and its strong national power have been acknowledged by the international community. Meanwhile, China has established a solid tie with different countries through foreign affairs, economic trade, cultural and military communication. All the above has brought unprecedented opportunities to the development of China's translating industry. As a bridge to cultural communication, interpreting has infiltrated into each and every industry in China and become a crucial part of China's social, political, economic and cultural life. The huge prospects and fast development of simultaneous interpreting industry in China have aroused the interest of related experts to conduct research on it. Since the end of 1990s, the number of papers on SI in China has remarkably increased. This thesis intends to conduct an analytical survey based on the 52 papers produced between 1996 and 2010 and found in China National Knowledge Infrastructure's core journal catalog using"simultaneous interpreting"as the key word of content, and then comes up with China's future SI teaching model which implies that SI teaching should be conducted on the basis of four indispensable aspects: SI industry analysis, SI skill instruction, SI teaching methods and SI theory study. |
