A Study Of Vocabulary Of Agricultural Production Implements In The Zhuang Language

This article takes the methods of field investigation, vocabulary analysis from contrastive linguistics and the methods from cultural linguistics to make a study on vocabulary of agricultural production implements in the Zhuang on the basis of field study and research of materials and document.By attempting to classify and describe vocabulary of agricultural production implements in Zhuang,this article tries to show that agricultural production implements play an important role in people's life and production in the region of Zhuang ethnic group,and to reveal the cultural connotation of the vocabulary.The Zhuang is an ancient farming nation in southern China, which has a long history of rice culture. There's exceedingly rich vocabulary of agriculture in the Zhuang, which covers the main aspects of the Zhuang people's lives.Through the words of plowing tools, we can see development of ways of cultivation. From the words of field management, we can see characteristic of traditional agricultural production of the Zhuangs -intensive cultivation. From the words of water conservancy facilities and irrigation tools,we can see the combination of traditional and modern production equipment of the Zhuangs.From the words of harvesting and transport tools,we can see invention and transformation of production implements. From the words of processing tools ,we can see technology and techniques of cereal grain processing and food processing. From the words of fishing and hunting tools,we can see characteristic of the Zhuangs-living on rice and fish.Other related words of tools can also reveal the seriation of the Zhuangs'tools.
