The Syntactic And Semantic Study Of Verb-direction Construction "V+开去"

Directional verb and directional complement sentence are hot in the study of modern Chinese, and also are the difficulties in foreign students learning. This paper mainly to takes verb-direction construction "V +开去" as the research object. It uses linguistics theories such as structural grammar, valent grammar and cognitive linguistics theories, following the way of combining language form and meaning, the description and interpretation, static and dynamic to carry on the comprehensive analysis and sufficient interpretation about the "V +开去" structure from perspectives of syntax, semantics, cognitive, and pragmatic.This paper mainly includes five parts. Chapter one firstly defines the "开去" of directional verb, then analyzes the syntactic function of "V +开去", and investigated several patterns related "V +开去" and coordination valence of directional complementation "V +开去".Chapter two researches the semantic of "V +开去" detailedly. The semantic types of verb-direction construction "V +开去" can be classified into four kinds: trend significance , result significance, state significance and comment significance. And it sorts the "V" expressing a specific meaning and analyzes semantic feature. Chapter three gives a full explanation to "V +开去" with cognitive linguistics theory .This chapter firstly analyzes the relationship between schema and Semantic of "V +开去" , then explain the relationship between frame theory of displacement events and the syntax structure of "V +开去". Finally the relationship between different semantics of "V +开去" are explained using metonymy, frame semantic theory, Subjecitification and so on. Four chapter analyzes the unbalanced performance of the "V +开来" and "V +开去", and its explain the performance between "V +开去" and "V +开来",and indicate the unbalanced performance of the "V +开来" and "V +开去"mainly embodies the imbalance in using frequency and the combining ability among "开来"\ "开去" and verbs. The most basic reason is "开来" is weak marker, "开去" is a strong marker. Chapter five is epilogue, which mainly summarizes views of this paper.
