The Aim On Business Chinese Test Reform

With the steady economic growth in China, its favorite situation is attracting lots of foreign investors to China and vice versa. The demand of "Business Chinese," has added its value in the benefit on the language as well as cross-cultural communication. Thus, there is a continuing demand in BCT (Business Chinese Test), named"商务汉语考试''in Chinese. This is a state-level standard test established to assess the Chinese proficiency of non-native speakers engaged in business activities. Practicability and communication are the main features of the test. Also, it serves and benefits for various purposes such as providing a reference for employers to assess in selection of applicants and internal promotion of employee. Assists institution to certify student's level and classification and self-assessment.BCT was officially launched in 2007 in China, Korea, Japan and U.S.A. Due to the trend of expansion & extensive demand around the world. There is a need of BCT reformation to be in line with the current social situation in terms of question proposition method, style and content of the test and level classification.On the other side, Business Chinese activities are relevant in the field of intercultural business communication. Business language is a language in production of business activities; it is based on the responsibility in training student to utilize the language skill in conducting cross-culture communication. Even though the demand of Chinese language is increasing, however, the popularity is not comparatively high. As a result, it is unfavorable for BCT to compete in the market simply with a shabby proficiency test. It should consider to launch it in a trend of promotionally and popularity.
