Chekhov In The Literary Thoughts Of Wang Yuan Hua

Wang Yuan Hua is a great thinker in the history of Chinese literary, whose study fields are quite widely such as Literature, Theory of Literature, Philosophy, the History of Thoughts, and Cultural Study and so on. The love of literature is the start of his thoughts. Although he turned to the field of literary criticism in his later life, he still liked reading literary outputs, especially the literature of 19th century. Chekhov is one of the important Russian writers whom have been introduced to China during the May Forth period. There are three reflections in the academic career of Wang Yuan Hua, including the reflection of literary. During the process of reflections, Wang Yuan Hua had revised his opinions and ideas. Chekhov is always one of his favorite writers, and this point about Chekhov has never been changed.This thesis will make an attempt at analyzing the influence of Chekhov in Wang Yuan Hua's literary thoughts and finding the relation between Wang Yuan Hua and Chekhov in the areas of literary thoughts and spiritual search. First of all, the thesis will review on the Chekhov's study in China and compare with the comments of Wang Yuan Hua. Secondly, based on the comments of Wang Yuan Hua and Chekhov's literature, the thesis will find the resemblance between Wang Yuan Hua and Chekhov. Lastly, by interpretation of the works of Chekhov, from the standpoint of Wang Yuan Hua, the thesis will find the special value of Wang Yuan Hua and Chekhov in our society.
