Current society has entered the age of visual culture, and image has become an important pattern in perception and understanding. The animation, as a set of vivid, lively, entertaining form of visual culture, take an increasingly important role in modern children's lives, and increasingly become an important factors affecting children's lives and growth. It's necessary to discuss the education value of animation in such a context. This thesis discusses the education value of animation and the development strategy from three parts.The first part mainly discusses the essential features, technique of expression and technology development of animation in order to provide a basis for the analysis of educational value of the animation. The animation is essentially a motive picture. Compared with the picture, the animation has the characteristics of dynamic and temperament; compared with the movie, the animation has ultra-realistic virtuality, which can be achieved by imagination, exaggeration and personification.In the second part, on the basis of clearing the impact of visual culture to schools and students, this thesis interpret the representations of animation from knowledge and skill, intellectual development, and aesthetic ability. Animation knowledge and skill include knowledge and skill about animation and knowledge and skill expressed by animation, which enrich children's knowledge and skill. In the aspect of thinking development, virtuality expands the space of thinking and enriches the mode of thinking of children. In the aspect of aesthetic ability, audio-visual character of the animation improves the ability of feeling beauty and audio-visual.The purpose of the third part is to discuss how to develop the education value of animation in the school, making it become the beneficial resources to the children's healthy development. From the perspective of curriculum development, the thesis highlights the awareness of resource and purpose, and points out that the animation curriculum development must uphold the principles of initiative, openness and interaction, and be mainly through the appreciation, interpretation and performance and other means to realize. Meanwhile, in the process of curriculum transformation, the school should be create a relaxed, open and diverse campus culture, and the teachers should be discover the education value of animation and making that into practice, the students should be actively participate in the animation curriculum development, to create a positive and healthy campus culture and student culture.
