Language is the carrier of culture. With the winds of "mandarin fever" sweeping around the world, people from different countries have rapidly changed their impressions about China. Since 2004, our government has been vigorously promoting the building of Confucius Institute, and so far it has achieved great success. However, an over-reliance on entity class also brings a lot of problems, such as funds problem, improper hardware distribution, irregular teacher resources, etc. Therefore, it is urgent to broaden the electronic marketing channels of promoting Chinese. Television teaching program can effectively cover the shortage and solve a series of questions concerned Confucius Institute, thus, it should be a new field of Chinese international promotion.To have a better understanding about the trend of Chinese-teaching program, this paper firstly defined the program of teaching Chinese based on Harold Dwight Lasswell's 5W model of transmission. Then it analyzed the current state of Chinese-teaching program from the horizontal and vertical angles, considering that "Communicative Language Teaching" and "entertainment language teaching" would be the direction of Chinese-teaching program in the future and the centered position of the receivers would be the core ideal of developing Chinese-teaching program. Centered on the trend of entertainment, this paper analyzed the characteristics of Chinese-teaching program from three different perspectives:the changing of transmission model, interpreting the text and features of transmission. Since it is now media era, the receivers scattered all around the world and each person had his own understanding about the television program. Under this circumstance, this paper indicated that the Chinese-teaching program should fully display its especial communication advantages, with the consideration of receivers'selective attentions, developing series program based on the receivers' preference.Based on theories of Krashen's Input hypothesis and Functional Language Teaching and centered on communicative trend, this paper discussed the teaching features of Chinese-teaching program. It found that the Chinese-teaching program had followed the communicative language teaching principles. However, it still bounded by traditional teaching model in the aspects of teaching content, narrative pattern, etc. Besides, this paper also analyzed the phenomenon that the current Chinese-teaching program ignored the grammar teaching.Based on above, this paper concluded that future development of Chinese-teaching program should start with choosing competent hosts, promoting the program diversification, strengthening brand building and enlarging the broadcast channels. At the same time, it is also important to work hard on electronic information products export, such as TV series, documentary. In this way, TV program will serve as a medium for cultivating a good Chinese learning environment and make teaching effectively.
