Body-esteem as one part of the specific self-esteem which belongs to a whole body multi-level multi-dimensional structure, has become a hot issue on self-esteem research in recent years. Body-esteem is a social evaluation on different aspects (such as body-satisfaction and body-dissatisfaction) which is closely related to physical self . It is one of the important factors self-esteem which is closely related to social comparison studies. In view of the body self-esteem research is still at the exploratory stage, the mechanism of social comparison is still not deepgoing .This research adapted the experimental method. 160 female graduate students were selected in this study. Analyzes the social comparison of physical self-esteem and self-esteem of the whole mechanism of action, while exploring the physical relationship between self-esteem and overall self-esteem have been studied. The effect on social comparison on body-esteem and self-esteem has also been studied.The conclusions are as follows:(1) The influence of Social comparison on body-esteem and self esteem is significant. Compare to the ideal woman in the mass media will reduce the individual's body-esteem and self-esteem. More specifically, in the upward social comparison the similarity with the objection more likely to improve body-esteem and self-esteem; and the difference comparison will reduce the level of body-esteem and self-esteem.(2) The mass media, which widely publicized the thin media images, will reduce the level of body-esteem and self-esteem. However, the negative effects of the mass media in two group(body & face) has no significant difference.(3) Body-esteem and self-esteem always have same change level, but this consistent change is not causation.
