A View On The Influence Of Conceptual Art On "Chongqing Oil Paintings"

As a kind of visual art, it's an inevitable issue to treat oil painting of its own characteristics and evolution from the contemporary perspective. The eternal nature, which is necessary for art, is an artistic soul beyond time and trend. Installation, performance, conception and some other art forms have had a great influence on traditional oil painting since 1990s, when the conceptual art began its development in China. The value of art itself is conducive to the development of artistic diversity and helps art express its emotions and concepts in a more effective way. The exploration and research on the relationship between conceptual art and the contemporaneity of oil paintings, as well as the impact of conception on oil painting plays a great role in promoting the general understanding and studying on the academic value of the development of contemporary oil painting.Chongqing, as the arts development center in Southwest China, has nurtured many famous contemporary artists and is leading the development of Chinese contemporary art. These artists have standed on the forefront of domestic academic field since conceptual art came to China. The Oil Painting in Huang Jue Ping of Chongqing , which developed from wounds art , new figurative and new realism, has formed a certain continuity of its own characteristics. It is a very unique case in the geographical distribution of Chinese contemporary oil painting and has been in the spotlight of researchers of Chinese art . However, with the transformation of the artists' creative way, the diversity of Conceptual Art has a strong impact on the traditional oil painting. Whether the manifestation of oil painting is able to meet the expression of the artists'concepts and interpretation has become an issue in researches on art theory. And as most of the artists are still in a vague and exploration phase in this issue, it's hard to collect the literature.This paper, which is based on the development of Chongqing arts since 1980s and takes the current art ecology of Chongqing and the artists who are engaged in conceptual oil painting as research objects , is doing a real objective research with great numbers of examples. The author analyzes and discusses the concepts of Conceptual Art involved in traditional oil painting from the aspects of creating subjects, deep narration and the author's personal creation experience, and explores the relationship between regional and international, conceptual art and conceptual painting through the study of the transmission, development and transcendence of local oil painting art. The results further confirms that there are many mutual influence between conceptual art and traditional oil painting of Chongqing, and reflects the influence and practical significance of conceptual art on contemporary painting of young artists from a specific historical and geographical perspective.
