With the rapid development of our economy, the international business activity is more and more frequent, and business English is used more and more widely. High-quality talents with strong business English ability have become more and more urgent needs for economical and social development. Based on our college which has set up business English majors since 1999, the author has also considered the actual situation in other higher vocational colleges in Inner Mongolia Region, and found the curriculum system here for business English majors existing problems. Therefore, in order to meet the needs of society, we should reconstruct the Curriculum System for higher vocational business English major in Inner Mongolia Region.Curriculum system is the important way to realize the talent-training objective. But the curriculum system and the talent-training objective running here do not meet the actual situation of our region's economic development. And jobs are even not related with their major. The business skills of the students are far weaker than their English skills, etc. We make a lot of research and find the reason:the current curriculum system has already been out of line with the development of time, and neglected the requirements of professional post. During their studying period, they pay much attention to the knowledge system and theoretical teaching, and the occupational certificates they get are not relevant with their learning courses.On the basis of existing research, and according to the problems existing in the higher vocational business English majors here, the author makes a new construction in curriculum system. This thesis is based on the region's actual situation, focusing on the future development of economy and society needs, combining the real situation of most vocational colleges in this region, And then propose a strategy for solving the problems:developing with "work-integrated learning, course-certificate combination" as the guiding ideology, putting emphasis on courses setting, curriculum integration,etc to adapt the changing of talent-training objective, and to solve the students'English skills and business skills effectively improving at the same time, and to satisfy the professional requirements. The original reconstruction of curriculum system meet the market demands, and is in accordance with the talent-training objective. Now we explore "work-integrated learning, course-certificate combination" as the guiding ideology, and the professional post as education steering. This will definitely improve the talent-training objective of higher vocational business English major and course system in our region. And at last, we will truly realize, within three years, the students could become compound talents with both certain English language application ability and certain business skills, and truly satisfy the demands of business English talent in Inner Mongolia region. |
