Zheng is one of the most ancient and distinctive national musical instrument in China. In the process of developing Zheng, there were indeed so many disadvantages, such as the limitation of artistic expression. However, with the effort and study of so many Zitherist who gathered experience for the development of Zheng, this instrument has been booming in last 40 years, which tell us the traditional Zheng art is long-standing and could not be abandoned.Through investigation, this thesis applies to find out the problems hindering the development of Zheng, and puts forword the assumption promoting the development of Zheng. The writer mainly analyzes the skills of musical performance, the training of basic technique, the diversity of creating musical production, and the diversity of publicizing Zheng art, in the hope of bringing up the development of Zheng, even the deep thought and study of national art. In future, we should not only inherit the excellent Zheng tradition, but also bring forth the new through the old constantly. Only holding this kind relationship of dialectical unity, Zheng art could be developed better and faster, and be carried forward in the future. Every artistic work should reflect both historical tradition and real life, which can make tradition and innovation exist side by side, that is, both inheriting and innovating. In the view of Zheng performance and composition, continuing and inheriting Zheng art should not be divorced from longitudinal inheritance, otherwise the characteristic art charm and featurecan not be continued and inherited to the descendants. At the same time, we should also pay attention to the horizontal anlehnung for enriching and developing Zheng art.
