A Survey Of The History Of Japanese Cultural Heritage Protection System

Japan is the world's advanced country in cultural heritage protection. Cultural heritage is known as "Cultural Property" in Japan. Since the late 19th century, Japan has continued to explore and gradually established a relatively complete cultural heritage protection system, which lasts more than one hundred years. Recently, we have lots of research papers about Japanese cultural heritage protection system itself, but little research on its history and background. Japanese cultural heritage protection system development is inseparable from the background of Japan's modern history. Research on these two aspects is valuable. First of all, it helps us to understand Japanese cultural heritage protection from a general perspective. Second, as a mirror, research on Japanese cultural heritage protection system helps us to understand the importance of cultural heritage protection. Last but not least important, in-depth analysis of Japan cultural heritage protection system could give us experience and implication on cultural heritage protection in China.This paper consists of four parts. On the basis of historical data collection, the paper illustrates Japanese cultural heritage protection system development and research step by step. Through analysis and summary on Japanese cultural heritage protection experience, and link to China cultural heritage protection status, the paper summarized the history value of Japanese cultural heritage protection system.
