A Study Of Phonogram Ideogram Identification In Naxi Dongba Characters

This thesis has taken identification of phonogram ideogram in. Naxi Dongba characters as a research target in order to summarize degree of identification of phonogram. Through generalizing Dongba characters's phonogram type, combing the definition of identification and statistical analysis of constitute characters in situations of phonogram ideogram, this thesis tries to be of certain reference value on determining the Phonogram maturity of Dongba characters.This thesis can mainly be attributed to three areas as follows:1. To summarize phonogram types and unique feature in Dongba characters that based on a comparison between Dongba characters phonogram system and Oracle phonogram system.2. To analyze the definition of identification in Chinese characters researching field, in order to propose the definition of identification in General philology aspect that applies to Dongba characters. And it can provide theoretical guidance for the phonetic ideogram identification analysis.3. To take the "record of Naxi Pictographs" and "Naxi Ideographs Characters Dictionary" as the basic materials, from which Phonogram is done for exhaustive statistical analysis. For another hand, the degree's reasearching of phonogram ideogram identification in Dongba characters is made up to two aspects, which is including the word frequency and the functions of ideogram recording word meaning.Based on the research, the major conclusions are as follows:1. A large number of mature phonogram has appeared in Dongba characters, which makes the Phonogram further identification of characters available.2. Only a few Phonogram ideograms which closely related to production and human life have gathered by meaning class. Most ideograms still express under-distributed and specific meaning. So the whole identification level is not high in Dongba characters.The significance of the thesis is available. It can form a foundation of researching of ideography, and it has reference value on the historical dating and nature determination of Dongba characters.
