Archaeological Theory And Practice Of LiJi

Li ji is the father of Chinese archeology. During the archeological practices, he not only inherited western archaeology theory and method, but also cultivated his unique method, and established a basis for the development of Chinese archeology.This article mainly explores Li ji's archaeology theory and characteristic of its method, and on the basis of this, furtherly concludes the feature and significance to construct the ancient history in the view of archaeology. Accordingly, this article analyzes this topic from the following parts:The preface mainly introduces the existing research about Li ji, and shows that the significance of this article lies in the interdisciplinary feature of the research about ancient history.The first chapter makes an introduction about Li Ji's lifetime and his learning experience. What's more, it mainly introduces his research trend toward archaeology and concludes his contribution to the construction of archaeology.The second chapter puts emphasis on the illustration of Li Ji's archaeology theory and characteristic of his method, and lists them as the followings:a unique application and promotion of archaeology's stratigraphy and typology theory; advancing and implementing many kinds of creative excavation method, in combination with Chinese archaeology practices; establishing an interdisciplinary research form for Chinese archaeology and history.The third chapter analyzes Li Ji's ancient history construction in the view of archaeology. His research can be divided in research on prehistory and Shang's history from his range of study. And this article mainly introduces the research on Shang's history from instruments and customs.
