There were a great number of various guild halls in Southern Sichuan Province, which with so many different names in Ming and Qing dynasty, especially in the ruling periods from Empire Qianlong to Guangxu. There is a closely relationship among the construction of guild hall, the development of economy and immigrates' moving in. Yibin had become a place for goods concentrating and scattering at the fringe areas in Sichuan, Yunnan and Guizhou because of its particular zone bit advantages. Numerous businessmen flooded into this area and began with their merchandise trade, which not only speed up the development of economy as well as modernization, and also pushed the springing up of the Guild Hall. Beside, it is a certain degree that immigrates from both Hunan and Guangtong to Sichuan caused the process, making such kind of buildings has features such as townie, business, etc.. Under all these conditions above, a building style named Guild Hall appeared.As a kind of symbol in special atmosphere about culture and region, Guild Hall didn't bring about parochial viewpoints on place of ancestry and confrontation between town groups. Immigrates, as well as businessmen, take Guild Hall as a measure of communication and association, which, played a very important and positive role in resources assign and cultural adaptation, through the leaders of Guild Hall and the specific rule formulated. On the other hand, as a type of organization among official, citizens and businessmen, the appointment and removal of chief system sort of reflected the dominant power in the whole community, what gave a regular right to the businessmen collective to express what they wanna to or what they need. What was more, the immigrates group blended into the local society, getting the occupation of the lands, all of these above have finished the process of the benefit distribution with immigrates' coming onto a new place. To sum up, Guild Hall, just as a cultural substance and a social organization as well, performed a significant function both in the record for the history of native place, and integration of ethnic groups in community, too.
