Protection Of Nantou Old City

Shenzhen Nantou old city, firstly built in 331AD, is the orientation of Shenzhen and now listed on the key projects of heritage protection items by Guangdong province and Shenzhen city. It has been a military fort since Tang Dynasty and used to govern Hongkong and Macau. Large amount of relics were found all around in recent years. All these indicate that the protection of Nantou old city is necessary. Therefore, the current situation of the old city is not so optimistic, the regulations of protection are not effective enough, the protective measures are not fully implemented, architectures and other relics in Nantou old city are damaged seriously. So, the purpose of this paper is to tell the historical significance of Nantou old city and the current situation to the public, and introduce the writer's own point of view on protection of Nantou old city.Nantou old city is of great historical and archaeological significance and the protection of it is the very duty of us. That is the base of this paper. Information from books and archaeological found prove the writer's point of view. According to archaeological theory and heritage existence, the writer tells the current basic situation and historical significance of Nantou old city in the paper, as well as the problems that impact the heritage protection. The paper is focused on the opinion of full scale protection measures on Nantou old city, which includes the macro frame work of protection, the improvement of government administration, key projects analysis, new catalog of historical architectures, cultural industries development, etc.The writer has been to Nantou old city for many times and have some new found. The writer has also visited the residence of the old city and got to know their will of protection. All above are supplyied with enough evidence to this paper.The new point of view of this paper is to introduce new methods of protection on Nantou old city, including awareness, policy, regulation, management, etc.
