An Analysis On The Isomorphism Form Of The Relationship Between Temperament And Calendar

The relationship between temperament and calendar has always an important status in the history of Chinese ancient music. This paper arranged the relationship between temperament and calendar which recorded in Chinese ancient literatures from a macro vision of the isomorphism principle and the law of mutual infiltration, and analyzed its development skeleton. Refines some important attributes such as the time designated by the Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches, Huangzhong astronomical figures, mathematical medium, the primitive thought and so on, and synthetic study these factors and the thought that ancient cognition the world by induction; Again take the highest shape——a Cycle of Sixty Years tones adoption as the basic point, analyzed the multi-layer structure of the Ten Heavenly Stems, Twelve Earthly Branches, Five Elements, Five Notes, Twelve Frequencies and the Sixty Notes Transition and Modulation, locate it as a multi-system's comprehensive shape. After compared variety of systems of tones adoption, the author believes that the reason of variety of structures is the different rules which the ancients used hardly to unified variety of structures, then produced differences, and constituted a different modeles.At the time of analysis the relationship between temperament and calendar, the author found some logical contradiction between the Five Elements and Five Notes, and concluded that the contradiction is produced from the differences of inner logic developments. Some contradiction was included in the initial structure of multi-system Four Seasons and Five Elements.In lacks of the formal logic thought and the higher mathematics tools in the integrated process of variety of systems, the ancients were difficult to perfectly uniform variety of structures. All these reflect the cognitive limitations of the ancients. The world is actually homologous and isomorphism but can not be harmony, efforts of the ancients were difficult to achieve the ideal state in the end because of cognitive limitations.This paper is divided into three parts. Chapter I focus on the relationship between temperament and calenda development process, to make historical installment during the period of building and development; ChapterⅡfocus on the basis of factor analysis of the relationship between temperament and calendar,to discuss the influence of Time designated by the Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches and Huangzhong astronomical figures in the relationship between temperament and calendar; ChapterⅢfocus on the structure of a Cycle of Sixty Years tones adoption,such multi-layered system architecture discussion, to demonstrate its different rules under different system components.The conclusion summed up the value and meaning of the relationship between temperament and calendar in Chinese ancient music cultures from six aspects.
