China now is in its social transformation, and the living space of the city life has always been a giant stage for desire. According to the Space Sociology, a spatial relationship is also a sort of social relationship, and the production of the space is also a kind of production of the social relations, the product of the social politics, economy and culture. City space is closely linked to our society, and our human beings live in the space, as well as in society.In my opinion, the production and reconstruction of any city in some degree will reflect on conflict betewen the interest groups and the individuals. In the introduction part, the research angle is established first. And then it deals with the literature review on the text of the Dwelling Narrowness from the perspective of Space Sociology both at home and abroad. It also, at last, points out the creativity and significance of this paper.The body part consists of three chapters.The first chapter gives a general idea of Dwelling Narrowness and its setting. Among the three sections of this chapter, the first section analyses the grayness under the colorfulness of the urban life, the second section conducts the differentiation of the city strata, and the third section interprets the unapproachable city.The second chapter provides the modern suffering in our personality in the city space, which also consists of three sections. The first section is mainly about the people's personality in the process of urbanization. The second section probes into the struggle in the personality. The last section illustrates the effect of the economic society on the personality.In the third chapter, Dwelling Narrowness provides a telescope through which we could see the living space and the spiritual values of the urban people. This chapter is also divided into two sections: the description of the value dislocation of the city living space in the first section, the analysis of the popularity and the prohibition of the play in the second section.The conclusion part sketches a critic on the fact that Dwelling Narrowness casts an attention to the people's living space in an artistic way, and, once more, highlights the significance of the theme from both the academic perspective and the perspective of the text implication.
