On The Translation Of Fuzzy Language From The Perspective Of Receptive Aesthetics And Gestalt Theory

Taking the combination of advantages of two theories, Gestalt psychology theory and Receptive Aesthetics, as the theoretical foundation of this thesis, the author of this thesis studied fuzzy language and translation of fuzzy language. From the perspective of pragmatics features of fuzzy language, the author discussed several methods for fuzzy language translation, translation from fuzziness to precision, translation from precision to fuzziness, translation from fuzziness to fuzziness, and translation from precision to precision, which were used in translating fuzzy language. What's more, with plenty of examples, the author analyzed each method of them. In the process of exploring the strategies for translation of fuzzy language, the author interpreted the explanation scopes for translation of fuzzy language by the combination of advantages of two theories, Gestalt theory and Receptive Aesthetics.According to the research, the effects of fuzziness of language, no matter it is caused by psychological culture or the pursuit for literary effects, are all realized via the expressions which are not clear in semantic meaning, such as fuzziness in pronunciation, semantic fuzziness, and syntactical fuzziness and etc. Each expressive form of fuzziness of language or the combination of several expressive forms is the difficult point of translation and at the same time the base of translation research.Receptive Aesthetics concentrates on relationship between the reader and the article. It emphasizes the positive activity on the process of writing which can be realized by the reader's understanding and reaction towards the article. Besides, Receptive Aesthetics has limitation for lacking of the whole view for the literature articles'analysis which is more easily to make a mistake by unilateral thinking.While Gestalt, good at using the whole view to analyze things, concentrates on the energy of the entirety was more powerful than the total energy by adding up each part's. The entirety is not the collection of its elements but the new entirety comprised by each element in a new way. And this advantage can complete the Receptive Aesthetics. The analysis of translation of fuzzy language from translation strategies, methods and effects again proved that the combination of Receptive Aesthetics and Gestalt theory is of great value for the study of translation of fuzzy language.
