Relationship Between Chinese Literati In Ming And Qing Dynasties And Jesuits Translation

In Ming and Qing Dynasties Jesuit missionaries'visiting China is a major event in the history of cultural exchange. This is a time of Christian Culture in the mainstream of Western culture and Chinese traditional culture, the first substantive, peace, equality, communication, integration and conflict. As active agents of this incident Jesuit missionaries using the way different from traditional preaching-books preaching. They wrote many of the Chinese translation, covering religion, humanities and social sciences, natural sciences and so on. With these books, the Chinese literati reached out to the orthodox Confucian heterogeneous with "Western." Due to different attitudes of Western culture, Chinese literati can be divided into four categories:believers, friends, Christianity, anti-religion and not interested in nor opponents. This article discussed the first three and the Jesuits translated interaction.In this article, based on the book "Ming and Qing translation between the Jesuits Abstract" written by Xu Zongze, we make full use of the Ming and Qing translation from the Jesuits and other relevant raw materials; Then study and analysis the Jesuits spread of Christianity doctrine, Christian ethics and Western science and technology; In addition, we explore the acceptance and response situation of Chinese literati to the relative Chinese translations.
