| Yang Yiqing was a famous minister who had great influence on politics of mid-Ming Dynasty. Yang has been an official for 50 years, and had experienced Chenghua, Hongzhi, Zhengde, Jiajing four dynasties,and performed actively in the political arena. Guan-zhong-zou-yi was compiled by Yang when he was in the position of horse policies and he planned and controled military affairs in the three frontier of Shan Xi, he finished it as memorial for the throne. It recorded the administration of horse affairs, commerce of tea and horse,frontier defence measure, the resource of defending enemy and other aspects in detail when he was at the position.It ranged over almost everything, which he managed the political and military affairs in his place. The book is the necessary historical material to research the North West history in the late Ming Dynasty, it has a great value in historical material. The content of Guan-zhong-zou-yi represents the thought of Yang's frontier management, which is respecting the cooperation, opening the wasteland and accumulating grain, promoting talents and so on.It provides experences for posterity's Northern West frontier management. Guan-zhong-zou-yi served as an important datas for the studies of policies to develop the economy and improve the social conditions of the Northernwest Ming.
