The General Aptitude Test Battery (GATB), developed by the United States Employment Service, which analyses then yields nine aptitudes closely relating to occupations, has been widely used in personnel selection and placement. 386 university students participate in this group testing. This study attempted to understand the reliability and validity of the GATB for domestic university students and their aptitude status.The results show that:(1) On the basis of retest reliability, EFA, CFA, we found that GATB has good reliability, validity and could be applied to more domestic university students. (2) Compared with high school norm group, there is no significant difference with university students in test1 and test 2. High school norm group scored higher than university students in 4 tests including form matching, computation, vocabulary, sentence completion. University students scored higher than high school norm group in 5 tests including name comparison, 2-dimensional space, 3-dimensional space, tool matching, arithmetic reasoning. (3) Students in different gender, grades, majors, vocational interest have significant differences in GATB test results. (4) GATB is closely related with the performance of applying for a job for university students.
