The Study Of Xin Qiji's Poetry

XinQiji was a hero in the Southern Song Dynasty who insisted to stand against Jin Kingdom,and also a talent writer , playing a leading role in the history of ci. XinQiji not only committed to the creation of ci, but also wrote 17 prose represented as Ten Suggestions of Meiqin, and Nine Suggestions, and remained more than 140 poems known to the world. However, his poetry which has its own style, is particularly neglected. XinQiji's existing poems, mainly refer to the content of leisure poetry, sing poetry, family poetry, landscape poetry and other subjects, and the front two are the most, which has something to do with the fact of the majority of his poems were written during the period of retreat after 40. His poetry appears unique artistic features in the aspects of Allusions, imagery , imagination and so on, and so performed a variety of artistic styles. Touching upon the origins, XinQiji's poetry carrys on Chuci, and also learn from Bao Zhao in the Southern Dynasty and Shao Yong in the Southern Song Dynasty, but do not copy, his poetry presents its own characteristics in the group of Song poetry. Although XinQiji's creation of poetry and ci are quite different in status and influence, the two have differences and commen in thought, content, art and so on, there are complementarities between them. As for poetry and ci are written by one person, the fame in poetry is overshadowed by that of ci, which is a foregone conclusion in the history of literature. The reasons are: XinQiji is prefer to ci; the subtle change of the culture of poetry and ci in the Song dynasty; giving up poetry creation as to avoid defamation. XinQiji's poetry can 't be put on a par with his ci not only in quantity but also in quality. However his poetry has its irreplaceable value. The study of XinQiji's poetry is undoutly benefit to the study of his poetry, and also to the study of his ci, the study of XinQiji himself.
