Historical Philosophy Or Historical Science

Historical materialism is one of the Marx's two great discoveries,which particularly and obviously reflects the creative,scientific and revolutionary character of the Marxian philosophy. That how to understand and positioning the theory features of Marxist historical materialism has always been an important and basic philosophy theory issue of Marxist philosophy. However, there is usual no unified answers to the problem of discussion in field of "philosophy character" and "scientific character" of historical materialism. Therefore, there is an urgent need for us to solve the problem of positioning the theory features of historical materialism in the present. Only in this way can we understand and master the creative,scientific and revolutionary character of historical materialism.In the "The Letter to The Magazine Editorial Staff of Commentaries to the Motherland ", Marx pointed out "take the origin of the outline history of the western capitalist as the general development of the history of the philosophical theories, all nations whether they are the historical circumstances, are doomed to go this way, what he does would give me too much honor and also I would get much insult." Therefore, Marx doesn't agree to make his historical materialism known as "Super History" historical philosophy. Since historical materialism is not the dialectical historical philosophy, then how can we locate it, what is the relationship among the historical science,historical philosophy and empirical science. For this, this article is based on the text and documents, detailly illustrates the relationship among historical materialism,historical science,philosophy of history and empirical science. Testify the possibility of historical materialism as a historical science and establish that Marxist historical materialism is not the dialectical historical philosophy, but "the only scientific, the history of science".To prove this point, We take " The Ideology of The German" composed by Marx and Engels as the main text, describes the essence of " Super History " " No History " of the dialectical historical philosophy,and criticize the idealist view of youth Hegel and half a idealist of Feuerbach, Simultaneously rely on the text and other scholars'points that questioned the "philosophy" of historical materialism, and then came to the point of view that the historical materialism is not the dialectical historical philosophy.At the same time, we rely on the text to illustrate the semantic point of historical science; In our opinion, the historical science take the realistic man and his activity as its jumping-off place, and it does specific historical research under the guidance of general principles. Therefore, there is essential difference between the "historical science" concept and the historical philosophy,empirical science concept. Moreover, historical science's principle of practicing interpretation,principle of combining history and historic and humanitarian concern; what's more, the historical science's theoretical interesting of changing the world, all the theories interpret the unique,scientific and revolutionary of historical materialism from a deep level. It testifies the point that "historical materialism is the only scientific, the historical science".Therefore,historical materialism is not the dialectical historical philosophy , but " the only scientific, the historical science".
