Decision making under uncertainty has been an important topic in the study of decision making. It is closely related to human's daily life. There are two paradigms in the study of decision making under uncertainty. One is traditional normative paradigm, which is mainly described in the form of mathematical formula. The other is descriptive paradigm, in which the researchers often use problems and scenarios to prime uncertainty situation. However, the effects of the situational priming are greatly influenced by individual differences. Although some studies have considered situational priming and individual differences, the individual differences is complex. As a result, these studies are still not enough. The present study employs a novel task to examine the effect of cue patterns on judgment and decision-making under uncertainty. In the recent years, the cueing paradigm has been often used in the study of cognitive psychology. The previous studies of inhibition of return revealed that cue patterns have an important effect on human judgment. In this article, we will further examine the effect of cue on judgment and decision-making under uncertainty, in order to give more empirical supports for the study of IOR.Pure/Mixed block design is a common research paradigm in cognitive psychology. The present study employed this paradigm and consisted of two experiments. In experiment 1, we used pure block design to examine the effect of cues on judgment and decision-making under uncertainty. The results indicated that cue patterns had a significant effect on the RT in the judgment tasks. Task order had a persisting asymmetric influence: When the judgment task followed decision task, the cueing effect is absent. And, in the decision task, cue patterns also had a cueing effect, which was influenced by the duration of cues.In experiment 2, we used mixed block design to examine the effect of cues on judgment and decision-making under uncertainty. The results are consistent with the results in experiment1.There were significant cue effects in the judgment and decision tasks. The conclusions of the present study were as follows:(1)There were significant cue effects in the judgment and decision tasks under uncertainty.(2) In the judgment task, the cue effect was influenced by task order.(3)In the decision task, the cue effect was affected by the duration of cues.
