| Walter Benjamin is one of the greatest literary critics in 20 century. He devoted all his life to study the literature work of different writers, especially on the research of Baudelaire, which is owing to Benjamin's experiences and personal preferences. Therefore, this thesis makes efforts to discuss the research on Baudelaire conducted by Benjamin from the perspective of biography experience, according to Benjamin's works, letters, diaries and several good friends'memories and comments such as Gershom Scholem. The paper expects to provide a method and thinking for the study on Benjamin by clarifying his concern and train of thoughts.This paper is comprised of introduction, body and conclusion, among which the body is divided into three chapters.Chapter One From Benjamin's affection to Paris and Baudelaire, and the relation between the two, this chapter discusses how the Baudelaire research happens, and then on this basis the thesis tries to evaluate the important position of Benjamin's research on Baudelaire.Chapter Two This chapter discusses the subject and purpose of Benjamin's research on Baudelaire. The thesis points out the great changes of modern life from the observation of flaneur'life in 19th century, and the change of psychological mechanism and the loss of experience caused by this.Chapter Three This chapter analyzes the research method adopted by Benjamin in his study of Baudelaire. On the one hand, the thesis points out the direct influence of Marxism on Benjamin's research of Baudelaire by making clear the features of his basic thoughts. On the other hand, it also points out the potential advantage of Benjamin's melancholy character to understand the thought of Baudelaire. The thesis finally emphasizes that fable is a important method for Benjamin's research and writing.Conclusion On the basis of preceding analyses, the thesis points out the importance of biography experience to the study of Benjamin and his research on Baudelaire. |
