Research On Female Apparel And Accessories Of Mainland Fuzhou In Modern Times

The folklore of Fuzhou in the late Qing dynasty and the early republican China was characterized by epoch and place. The image of imperial mandate lady of Qing dynasty in court dresses could not only be seen, the dress of the gentlefolk women but also could be seen, the figure of hard-working farmwives with Santiao hairpins still could be seen.The apparel and accessories transition and its reasons of women of different social status in Fuzhou during the late Qing dynasty and the early republican china was stated in this thesis, with the background of this special epoch. It was elaborated the development background of Fuzhou female apparel and accessories in modern times, and the development and its reasons of Fuzhou downtown and countryside female apparel and accessories in modern times. It was illustrated and supplied the Fuzhou female apparel and accessories in modern times in detail on this thesis.With the researching methods of reviewing the literatures, collecting old pictures, and interviewing predecessors, the development of apparel and accessories of different women in the same region was organized, and the outline of dressing view was also drawn, and then the conclusion of this thesis was made that the main factors influencing the apparel and accessories transition of Fuzhou female in modern times could be political change, exotic culture, traditional culture, aesthetic standards, practical standards and so on. Meanwhile, the doubt was raised that Santiao hairpin and Snake hairpin is the same thing.
