National image is the understanding and evaluation about the epolitics,economic,siciety,culture and geography of a country from the internal and external public.National image in the war movie is the various impressions of the country through the medium of film.Peaceful rise of China calls for a variety of communication channels to show the world and continue to enhance the national image,film is an important mode of transmission,and War Films in the display image of the country is particularly impressive. It's a new challenge for Chinese war films to to spread Chinese mational image.There is a large gap of influence between the U.S.war films and the Chinese war films.There is a inspiration for the Chinese war films to compare the characteristics of the nation image in Chinese and U.S. war films,this paper discuss the topic in the ragard.In this paper,I will compare Chinese modern war movies and American movies, by symbolic analysis, historical methods and comparative methods, and distinguish the U.S. war films from Chinese war films in the cultural traditions, national experiences, cultural and ideological trends of different angles, etc.,analysis the difference between national image in Chinese and U.S. war films.This article is divided into six chapters, the first chapter is the introduction, the second chapter is about the concept, characteristics and significance of national image; the third chapter outlines the concept of war movies, communication features and the development of Chinese and U.S. War Films; the forth is the main chapter of this paper to compare the national image characteristics, and of the underlying reasons in Chinese and American war motion movies;the fifth chapter is some thoughts about how to figure China in war motion movies. The sixth is the summary.
