The art of Chinese piano from the 1930s to the 1940s, is the combination between western piano and traditional Chinese cultural, which belongs to one of the new Chinese cultural categories. Through the historical pilgrimage of mutual reference, mutual penetration and mutual mixation between western piano and traditional Chinese cultural, we can see that: the art of Chinese piano, after Chinese musicians have accepted the piano---this pure western art form, has been transformed by Chinese localization, and then evolved into a kind of new musical category which is rich in traditional Chinese cultural characteristics and presents the essence and visage of oriental musical culture. From the traditional Chinese culture's point of view, by comprehensively applying the methods such as history, culture, music, education. Etc, this thesis develops a historical insight into the art of piano from the aspects of Chinese piano such as creation, performance and education. Etc. from the 1930s to the 1940s in a diversified way, illustrates the representative works of this period and abstracts the cultural characteristics of piano works from the basic spirit of traditional Chinese culture. The author hopes to, through the above research, reveal the internal relationship between the art of Chinese piano and its traditional culture from the 1930s to the 1940s in a relatively systematical way, and make an objective evaluation on the achievements we've made and the existential problems, hence provide references for the future development of the art of piano in our country.
