Under the guidance of Three-Dimensional Grammar, this dissertation gives a full and systemic analysis of the broad possessor-subject-possessum-object sentence in modern Chinese, concentrating on its syntactic, semantic and pragmatic features. This dissertation makes necessary explanations at the same time of describing the features of this construction.The whole dissertation is composed of three chapters, added the preface and conclusion parts.The preface part mainly introduces the object of the research, the overall review of the studies done in the field concerned, the theory and method of the research, the source of corpora and denotations used in this dissertation.The first chapter mainly makes a systemic syntactic research on the broad possessor-subject-possessum-object sentence. This part analyses the components, the characters and the syntactic identities of the three components of this special construction (VP, NP1 and NP2) respectively.The second chapter mainly makes a full semantic research on the broad possessor-subject-possessum-object sentence. This part analyses the valency, the semantic identities and the semantic directions of the three components of this construction (VP, NP1 and NP2) respectively. The substances of this part are the analysis of the three special situations and the relationship between NP1 and NP2.The third chapter mainly makes a pragmatic research on the broad possessor-subject-possessum-object sentence. In this part, transformation is used to find out the pragmatic value of this special construction. A simple functional explanation on the broad possessor-subject-possessum-object sentence is presented in the end of this part.The conclusion part points out the unique arguments and the problems in this dissertation.
