A Study On Practical Wisdom Of WENZI

Wenzi has widely absorbed in kinds of the ideology including Confucianism, Mohism, Logician and Legalism on the basic of Laozi's Taoist and formed its own specific system. In the view of Wenzi, Dao is the ontology of the world and also the rule of the world. Meanwhile, Dao is pregnant with all things and invisible for everything though it is silent and intangible. We must follow the Dao and keep the Dao's characters as a result of its apriority, nothingness and regularity.Wenzi has unique ideas of practical wisdom which can be summed up in three aspects: the relationship between human and nature is the "following the Nature"; in interpersonal relations is the "noninterference"; in human beings themselves is the "human's self-cultivation". All of these must be on the condition that you understand Dao, for this you can make the best use of it. On the contrary, the practical wisdom is "Tradeoff" and "Wisdom" if you can't understand Dao. Tradeoff means the subjective activity and Wisdom means the ability of making choices.The practical wisdom of Wenzi can be summarized in three characteristics:whole, subjective initiative and dynamic. The contemporary significance of Wenzi's practical wisdom has three aspects:Firstly, it has a role when we solve the problem of the inherent value of nature and the relationship between human and nature. Secondly, it enriches the practical wisdom on Virtue ethics. Thirdly, it has played a positive role when we are reforming the way of thinking and lifestyle under the industrial civilization and constructing the low-carbon society.
