The motion of"Misty Poetry"commenced on undertaking in the late 1970s, which mitigated the new era of Chinese Modernism. Thus beyond question, Gu Cheng is one of the most typical misty poets. He won renown by virtue of a piece of Generation. Darkness gives me a pair of black eyes, while I use them to look for brightness .But this only two lines summarize the spiritual journey of young generation who grown up during the period of cultural revolution, looking for brightness in the darkness, going through the dark travels towards light, which served as one generations youth monument. His poem is as frank as virgin, as natural as breathiness and press close to the inner man. Everywhere he spotted, the lotus flowers unfold when he is trying chord to poetize.At the beginning of the 1980s,Cu Cheng arouse peoples wide concern by means of his title of being the king of misty poetry and the hint of fairy tales color,. In the middle and later half of the 1990s, Cu Cheng's was mainly focus his study on the dramatic death and psychological problems. But recently Home and Abroad Educational Circles have made study on Cu Cheng's poetry noumenon, which is mainly concentrate on poetry analysis of certain stage, such as The Innocent of Fairy Tales which was published in Contemporary writers review by Zhang Jiehong: the Root of Cu Cheng's poetry's Artistic conception which was published in Literacy Education by Zhang Ruixue.Entering the 21^st century, poetic circles is sluggish .So it is a era that the poem should awaken and saved. Poetry study has fallen back to inferior position. As a nation breed by poetry ,we should not neglect them. While Gu Cheng, a man who write poetry with whole-hearted, who have influence and individual style, who combine the realistic world with human inner-minds by poetry. His poetry more or less would affect future poets and readers. So the study on his poem owns some realistic meaning.Gu Cheng's manuscripts cover many aspects and subject-matter is also varied, which contain lyric prose, narrative essay, satirical essay, realistic style novel, absurdism novel, full-length novel, philosophy ,poetry, cultural desultory essay etc . Gu Cheng has some exceptional artistic work: wood-engraving, seal-engraving, pottery etc. and piano impromptu. In view of recent time, there's few thesis of overall carding evaluation about poetry creation of Gu Cheng's whole life. And also they are largely focus on the study of certain pieces of typical poem and period of poetical features.This thesis analyzes Gu Cheng's related investigation materials and alignment about how he create life from the aspect of life's experience, pursues the temporal sprits of his poetry from the angle of poem noumenon, analyzes his old type poem, and explores the warning meaning for struggle of cultivating modern people's spirits from the angle of Gu Cheng's tragic endings. This selected topic will be a comprehensive summing up and deepen previous study on Gu Cheng.
