Objective: To explore the epidemiological feature of pediatric burns of our hospital in the last three years.Methods: The epidemiological survey was made on 751 cases of burning children hospitalized in the Burns and Plastic Department of the Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University from July 1,2006 to October 1,2009. The survey included the age,sex,factors,degree,sites,location,season,pre-hospital care,complications,prognosis,wound culture.Results: Among the 751 burned children,the peak age of injury was 1-3 ages(72.17%),hot liquid was the most causa1 factor(94.93%),mild and moderate degree of injury were the most(89.88%),the arms and legs were the most common sites(42.72%),the vast majority of burns happened at home(95.74%),high-occurrence seasons were from may to october , no processing or non-professional processing before hospitalization was very common ( 87.62 %),consulting time within 2 hours was the most ( 53.66 %)after injury,shock and wound infection were the most complications, Gram-positive cocci was predominant(52.16 % ) ,the average time of hospitalization was 8.93d.Conclusion: The epidemiological characteristics of children's burns was similar to that reportesd at home and abroad in recent years.and the high incidence in infants,young children and families,predominance of hot liquid scald still remained the main features.
