The Clinical Study On Treating Children's Capillary Bronchitis With The Clearing Lung And Eliminating Phlegm Invigorate Blood Circulation Detoxification

Objective:As one of the common and the most frequent respiratory infection diseases in infants,bronchiolitis is characterized clinically by wheezing,shortness of breath. The article evaluates the clinical curative effect of the methods of clearing lung and eliminating phlegm, relieving toxin and activating blood, which are applied to treat bronchiolitis characterized by obstruction of the lung by phlegm heat. Cough, abundance of phlegm, shortness of breath(the respiratory rate), fever (maxillary temperature), lung auscultation and spirit, Cyanosis, heart rate, the complexion, sweating, tongue pictures were examined before and after treatment.Methods:53 hospitalized patients with the diagnosis of bronchiolitis characterized by obstruction of the lung by phlegm heat, from September,2008 to February,2010 of pediatrics department in Jiangsu Provincial Hospital of TCM, were divided randomly into two groups: treatment group (30 children)and control group (23 children), were treated with same western medicine, and the treatment group was treated additionally with the methods of clearing lung and eliminating phlegm, relieving toxin and activating blood. The two groups were routinely given antivirus,anti-inflammatory, antiasthma, fluid replacement, and symptomatic treatment of the western medicine, such as Yanhuning, methylprednisolone sodium succinate, terbutaline combined with budesonide spray inhalation, patting back, the oxygen therapy, relieving fever etc. During the whole period of treatment, the patients with the merge bacterium infection should be added with the antibiotic, the patients with heart failure should be added with reinforcing heart, diureses,etc.the treatment group in the above-mentioned treatment based on Western medicine plus Chinese medicine, with a course of 1 week. The clinical results after treatment might be assessed by the time of clinical symptom relief, the improvement in clinical syndromes and signs.Results:1.The condition of main symptomatic improvement after treatment:The effects of the treatment group, in the main symptom such as cough, abundance of phlegm, shortness of breath, lung auscultation, was significantly better than that of the control group, with significant difference between them(P<0.05).There were no significant differences between the two groups in the improvement of fever (P>0.05) 2.The condition of second symptomatic improvement after treatment:The effects of the treatment group, in the second symptom such as the complexion, spirit, sweating and tongue pictures, was significantly better than that of the control group, with significant difference between them(P<0.05).There were no significant differences between the two groups in the improvement of Cyanosis and the heart rate (P>0.05).3.Clinical curative effect comparison:The clinic efficiency of the therapeutic group were apparently superior to that of the control group(p<0.05). Conclusion:The methods of clearing lung and eliminating phlegm, relieving toxin and activating blood, which is combined with conventional Western medical treatment, exerts a certain effect for the treatment of bronchiolitis characterized by obstruction of the lung by phlegm heat in the aspect of eliminating symptoms.Combined traditional Chinese and western medicine is effective and safe for treatment of bronchiolitis characterized by obstruction of the lung by phlegm heat.
