Objective To better understand the serum visfatin and adiponectin level in hypertension patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, and to explore relativity between visfatin, adiponectin and hypertension with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods 20 cases of hypertension patients, 19 cases of type 2 diabetes mellitus patients, 20 cases of hypertension patients with 2 type diabetes mellitus, and 20 cases of normal controls were enrolled in this study. The level of serum visfatin and adiponectin, blood pressure, fasting blood glucose, blood lipid, body mass index (BMI) were measured, and the relativity between those and visfatin, adiponectin was analyzed. Results The visfatin levels in both type 2 diabetes mellitus and in hypertension patients were significantly higher than in control subjects [(18.26±1.22)ng/ml,(17.31±1.26)ng/ml,( 13.32±1.31)ng/ml(P<0.05)], while the levels in hypertension patients with 2 type diabetes mellitus [24.99±1.36)ng/ml] were significantly higher than in those former two. The levels of adiponectin in type 2 diabetes mellitus and in hypertension were apparently lower than in control subjects [8.75±1.29 ) ug/ml, (9.71±1.28)ug/ml,( 12.67±1.48)ug/ml ( P<0.05 ) ], while levels in hypertension patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus [(5.73±1.23)ug/ml] were apparently lower than in those former two. There is no obvious relativity in the visfatin and adiponectin levels'difference of type 2 diabetes mellitus patients and hypertension patients. Analysis indicates that levels of fasting serum visfatin in hypertension patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus were positively correlated with the waist hip ratio ( WHR ), triglyceride ( TG ), BMI [(r=0.431,0.371,0.501,P<0.05)], while were negatively correlated with high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ( HDL-C) [(r=-0.610,P<0.05)]; levels of serum adiponectin were negatively correlated with WHR, BMI, systolic pressure, TG [(r=-0.612,-0.393,-0.455,-0.391,P<0.05)]. Multiple stepwise regression analysis indicates that WHR was an independent relative factor in visfatin level [(t=2.943,P<0.05)]; WHR, HDL-C were independent relative factors in adiponectin level [(t=-2.741,3.968,P<0.05)].Conclusion The patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and those hypertension patients have high serum visfation levels, but low serum adiponectin levels. Hypertension patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus have higher serum visfatin levels, and lower serum adiponectin levels. This show that the occurrence and development of hypertension and tyep 2 diabetes mellitus might highly correlated with the increase of visfatin and the decrease of adiponectin。...
