Objective: To learn the HHV-8 infection in the Syphilis in the XinJiang Province of China.Methods: Serosurvey conducted in the First affiliated hospital,Xinjiang Medical University among the Syphilis .Collected the serum specimen 2~3ml per capita and storaged at -20℃;Antibodies against lytic and latent antigens to HHV-8 (ORF73/ORF65/K8.1) were detected by enzyme-linked immunoabsorbent assay. Data analyzed by SPSS17.0 statistical software.Results: The HHV-8 seroprevalence among the 280 Syphilis was 31.07%,Illiteracy group was high risk group(odds ratio:0.424;p=0.040) ;Age Groups between 30~40 had a low infection rate. (odds ratio:0.086;P=0.032),HHV-8 seroprevalence in this population was not associated with Gender ,Nationality, Environment, Marital Status and Income Status(p > 0.05, 95%confidence interval).There wan no significant deviation between early syphilis and late syphilis (chi square test:P>0.05);no significant deviation between slightly group and severe group(chi square test:P>0.05).Conclusion: The seroprevalence of HHV-8 in the Syphilis of Xinjiang province was high ;Staging and pathogenetic condition of syphilis had no predominance action to HHV-8 infection.
