| Objective: adopt random open study to compare the effects and quality of life of combined therapy of xiaoshuihu and traditional Chinese medicine with only using traditional Chinese medicine on upper extremity edema after mastectomy of breast cancer, in order to evaluate the clinic effect of xiaoshuihu,to seek a more reasonable treatment method. Method: The fifty breast cancer patients were divided into two groups according to the visit sequence. The treatment group with the traditional Chinese medicine and xiaoshuihu, The control group was treated only with traditional Chinese medicine. To observe and record the change of the releasing upper limb pain, the change of the grade of the patient's quality of life and so on. Results:①To compare the treatment group with the control groups of KPS score in pretherapy and post-treatment, the difference have statistical significance. (P<0.05).②The quality of life was obviously improved in treatment group after treatment(P<0.05),the control group have fewer changed(P>0.05).③the treatment group to improve the degree of injured extremity was above the control group(P<0. 05 );④To compare the function of upper limb in the two groups ,the treatment group was recover obviously(P>0.05);⑤The pain in the two groups themselves have obviously improved in pretherapy and post-treatment,and after treatment the treatment group was obviously improved (P<0.05). Conclusion: The combined therapy of xiaoshuihu and traditional Chinese medicine could improve the condition of physical strength, decrease clinical symptoms, through improving upper extremity edema, pain, dysfunction, self-care ability and self-abasement, the combined therapy increased the quality of life, it was a economy, convenient and effective method, it could be generally used in clinic.
