The Effect Evaluation Of The Modified TVT-O For The Treatment Female Stress Urinary Incontinence

Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of the modified TVT-O for the treatment female stress urinary incontinence.Methods:From Nov.2007 to Oct.2009,85 patients of stress urinary incontinence were enrolled into groups by different operation methods:45 patients were treated with modified'inside-out'transobturator tape(the Modified TVT-O), 40 patients were treated with'inside-out'transobturator tape(the TVT-O), blood loss,operating time ,post-operative hospital stay and resid-ual urine volume were compared, patients were assessed through Incontinence quality of life(I-QoL) by following up at 3 months,6 months and 1 year after the operation.Results: :(1)No significant differences emerged in demographic and clinical characte- ristics between the Modified TVT-O group and the TVT-O group;(2)Mean intra- operative blood loss,mean operating time,mean post-operative hospital stay and resid-ual urine volume in the Modified TVT-O group was (8±2.8)ml,(20±5.7)min,(6.5±1.8)d,(1.9±1.1)d,(32±9.2)ml, in theTVT-O group was(10±3.7)ml,(24±6.5)min,(5.4±2.2)d,(1.5±1.2)d,(30±7.5)ml,Mean intra-operative blood loss and mean operating time were less in the Modified TVT-O group than in the TVT-O group,but no significant difference existed (P>0.05), mean post-operative hospital stay and resid- ual urine volume were less in the TVT-O group than in the Modified TVT-O group,but no significant difference existed (P>0.05);(3)The preoperativ scores of I-QOL in the Modified TVT-O group was 62.80 compared with 1 year after the operation was 98.14 were significantly different (P<0.01); The preoperativ scores of I-QOL in the TVT-O group was 62.70 compared with 1 year after the operation was 98.72 were significantly different (P<0.01);between the two groups of comparison,no significant difference existed at 1 year after the operation (P>0.05). (4)The cure rates in the Modified TVT-O group was 84.44% at 1 year after the operation,the TVT-O group was 87.5%,no significant difference existed after the operation(P>0.05).Conclusions: The study shows that modified TVT-O are safe and efficacy in treatment of female stress urinary incontinence. The cure rates no significant difference existed compared with TVT-O .The surgery present good effect on improving the short term quality of life, the long-term effect need further follow- up.
