【Objective】:Exploring the probabilities of various symptoms and syndromes from the patients suffering from RE(reflux esophagitis);Observing the connections between influencing factors like age, gender, course and the syndromes of RE so that we can acquire the further understanding on the etiology, pathogenesis and distributing rules to provide a kind of reference to the thorough establishment of diagnostic-therapeutic criteria of TCM for RE in the near future.【Methods】:We combined the literature-researching and clinical investigation. On the former aspect, we studied the etiology, pathogenesis, syndromes, treatment of TCM and also the pathogenic mechanism,diagnostic-therapeutic advancement based upon large quantities of literature-reading; on the other hand, we did the syndrome-diagnosis on the 130 cases according to the unified standard and collected the influencing factors to fill in the questionnaires so that we could do the statistic analysis.【Results】:1.Ratio of male and female patient is 1.45:1 with the age from 20 to 70, mean age 49.23 year, where the highest proportion is from the group of 50~59 years, followed by the group of 40-49 years.2.Emotions and tiredness are the most common pathogenic factors.3.Twelve symptoms such as refluxing, retrosternal discomfort are commonly seen.4.The two syndromes of stagnated-heat at liver-stomach and disharmony between liver and stomach are more frequent.5.The difference of the syndrome-distribution at the two genders has no statistical significance, but when you do some research at different ages, generally speaking, you will find that patients with excess syndrome are younger than patients with deficiency syndrome.6.Difference of syndrome-distribution at different courses has statistical significance.【Conclusion】:1.RE is associated with age but not gender.2.The two syndromes of "disharmony between liver and stomach" and "stagnated heat of liver-stomach" are most commonly seen among them. 3.The distribution of the syndromes can be influenced by the age, course but not gender.
