Objective:This study is to observe clinical efficacy of Huayujiedu and Tiaoyangganpi method for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C, by comparing this method with the therapy of pegylated interferon combined with ribavirin, to get the evaluation of long-term efficacy and safety with Huayujiedu and Tiaoyangganpi treatment for chronic hepatitis C,and to weigh this therapy's role in slowing chronic hepatitis C disease progress. Methods:In this study parallel controlled approach was used. According to standard we selected 49 patients with chronic hepatitis C patients, with 27 cases in treatment group, and control group 22 cases. The treatment group received Huayujiedu and Tiaoyangganpi law recipe of Chinese medicine treatment, while the control group were given pegylated interferon and ribavirin. Treatment was for 48 weeks. Patients were observed before treatment and after 12 weeks of clinical symptoms and signs of the end of treatment, the symptom score, quantitative hepatitis C virus (HCV-RNA), liver function, changes in liver and spleen B-and safety indicators, to compare the two different therapies.Results:1. The treatment group,3 cases were lost and fall off, the control group had two cases of loss due to adverse events, without removing case. Total of 44 patients completed 48 weeks of treatment,24 cases in treatment group, control group 20 cases.2. Completed 48 weeks of comprehensive therapeutic effect of treatment group compared with the efficiency of the treatment group and the total effective rate was 29.2% and 70.8%, respectively, the control group was effective and total effective rates were 30% and 80%, both markedly and the total effective There were no significant differences (p> 0.05).3. Completed 48 weeks of therapy compared two groups of syndromes, the treatment group was effective and total effective rates were 29.2% and 77.5%, control group efficiency and total effective rate was 5.0% and 50.0% in both groups were significant difference (P<0.01). Symptom points in comparison, the treatment group of hypochondriac pain, anorexia, fatigue symptoms than the control group (P<0.01).4. In the 12 weeks of early response on the traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine treatment group compared the control group showed no significant difference (p> 0.05), but more as part of the response, early complete response and western significant difference (p <0.05). After 48 weeks of treatment at the end of treatment response on the treatment group and western medicine in the control group not significantly different between some responses (p> 0.05), but in the end of treatment complete response and overall response with the western medicine has a statistically significant (p<0.05).5. Completed 48 weeks of treatment compared two groups of liver function, treatment and control groups in ALT, AST significantly improve the efficacy (P<0.01), and do not have the difference between the two (p>0.05). Comparison of portal vein diameter before and after treatment, the treatment group and control group were improved (P<0.05). No statistically significant difference (P>0.05). B-grade dropped 2 and 1 in the treatment group were 3 and 6 patients in the control group was 0 cases and 3 cases, but no significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05).6. Compared with the efficacy of different treatments, the relationship between symptom scores, HCV-RNA on the number of liver function to improve long-term treatment effects are excellent and short-term treatment (P<0.01). And treated with different combinations of symptoms and different treatment points to improve the long course of treatment for the optimal combination of traditional Chinese medicine (P<0.01), HCV-RNA on the number of treatment combinations to improve long-Western optimal (P<0.01), but no significant improve liver function differences (p>0.05).Conclusion:This study found that Huayujiedu and Tiaoyangganpi method for long-term treatment of chronic hepatitis C effects of its symptoms significantly better than western medicine group, in particular, liver stagnation and spleen deficiency symptoms improved group. And the Chinese intervention in the anti-virus has some efficacy in the treatment of early and end with the western part of the response was no significant difference in ALT and AST can significantly reduce the level, to reduce liver damage. In this study,48 weeks of treatment compared with the 12-week results of the intervention shows symptoms of long-term efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine, the virus titer and the liver function was better than short-term treatment. In addition, the liver and spleen law stasis nursed back to health with good clinical safety of contraceptives, use features such as in the testing process and test no significant drug-related adverse events, Therefore, this treatment is worthy of promotion.
