Objective To investigate the status quo of community residents's KAP of CPR, then to evaluate the CPR knowledge needs of community residents. To explore the effect of situational teaching training for improving community residents'knowledge, attitude and skills about CPR and provide universal theoretical basis and practical guidance for CPR training.Method From September to December in 2009,428 community residents from 4 communities have been investigated by completely random method in Shaoyang city. The questionnairs consist of twp parts: the demographic information questionnaires of community resident, the self-designed KAP questionnair. A week later,100 community residents were selected randomly by using a random number table.Following the voluntary principle they signed informed consent, then they were divided into a control group (A group) and a test group (B).A group received scenarios teaching training, including theoretical lectures and field scenarios simulated teaching by example;B group are given health education of traditional forms, only theoretical knowledge training seminars. After the training, test and control groups were evaluated by questionnaire and skills scores. The results were compared before and after the CPR training. The statistical data were analyzed by the Statistical Package for Social Science(SPSS) 13.0, and the strategies included descriptive statistics, independent-sample t-test, ANOVA and Spearman correlation analysis. Results 1.The survey totally distributed 450 questionnaires, among which 428 were valid, the recovery rate was 95.1 percent.2.The mean knowledge score of community residents was (9.9±6.6), accounting for 24 percent of the full score. The mean attitude score was (13.7±4.7),accounting for 65.23 percent of the full score. The practice score was(8.2±9.4),accounting for 8.2 percent of the full score.3.Spearman correlation analysis showed that there were positive correlation between knowledge and attitude (r=0.137,P<0.01),attitude and practice (r=0.028,P<0.01),knowledge and practice (r=0.100, P<0.01).4. Spearman correlation analysis showed that the score of CPR knowledge and total score was correlated with the age of community residents, education level and income levels. There was significant difference between age and knowledge score.(p<0.001).Through the two-sample t-test analysis, the knowledge, attitude, behavior and total score was not statistically significant in different gender and religious beliefs of community residents. The farmers had lowest knowledge score by LSD-t test comparison (p<0.001);but for the total score, the farmers was only significantly different with the higher score of cadres and teachers (p<0.01).By H test analysis we found community residents in different health situation were not statistically significant in the knowledge, attitude, behavior and total score.5.Before training, the difference about CPR knowledge, attitude and behavior scores between two groups was not statistically significant (P> 0.05).After Training, knowledge, attitude and behavior scores all differ (P<0.05)from each other. For both two groups, all scores were not significatly different except in attitude before and after training(P>0.05).Conclusion 1.In general,Community residents in shaoyang city have low awareness rate of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and they lack theoretical knowledge of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid skills. It is difficult to play "the first witness" role. Compared with developed countries, there is a big gap.We should increase publicity and communities education.2.Community residents lack professional guidance, while they are having great demand of professional training in the community cardiopulmonary recovery training.3.For community residents, CPR training can improve attitudes and enhance theoretical knowledge and improve operating skills, and situational teaching is a good and easy way.It can be applied widely.
