Objective:The aims of this study were to explore the association between ApoA1-75 genetic polymorphism and essential hypertension development.Methods:ApoA1-75 genotype was determined by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism assay for 214 patients with essential hypertension and 211 healthy controls.Unconditinal logistic regression is performed to evaluate association of genotype with EH susceptibility after adjustment for risk factor.Results:1.Genotype frequencies for ApoAl-75GG, GA and AA genotypes were 55.1%,38.3% and 6.6% in cases, respectively,46.0%, 44.0% and 10.0% in controls. No significant difference was observed for genotype distribution of-75 polymorphism between the cases and controls(χ=3.573, p=0.059). Allele frequencies of ApoAl gene-75A frequencies were 25.7% in cases and lower than 32.0% in controls(χ2=4.097, P=0.043).2.when adjusted by EH risk factors including sex, age, body mass index(BMI), smoking, alcohol drinking, EH history in the relatives, cholesterol, high density lipoprotein(HDL), low density lipoprotein(LDL) and triglyeride, results of unconditional logistic regression analysis showed that there was no relationship between ApoA1-75 polymorphism and EH susceptibility. Conclusion:These data suggest there were significantly differences in the variation of ApoA1-75 allele between patients with hypertension and health control.
