Objective :To explore the relationship between Ezrin and E-cadherin and clinical pathological parameters, tumor metastasis by detecting the expression of Ezrin and E-cadherin in renal cell carcinoma tissues and normal tissuses adjacent to the cancer.Materials and Methods:Select 42 specimen of renal cell carcinoma and corresponding normal tissue adjacent to cancer as experimental group. All patients have undergone radical nephrectomy or nephron-sparing partial nephrectomy, and without radiotherapy, chemotherapy, immunotherapy and embolization before the surgery. All the specimen process formalin fixation and mineral wax embedment. The clinic-pathological informations are procured though reviewing the case file record and pathological report.Expression of Ezrin and E-cadherin in renal cell carcinoma tissues and the normal tissues adjacent cancer were detected by using immunohisto- chemistry Elivision method.Correlation between the expressions and clinicopathological features was analyzed by drawing table and progressing chi aquare test of SPSS software.Besides,we analyze whether the expression of Ezrin and E-cadherin exist correlation or not.Result:The expression of ezrin protein showed a significant difference between the renal cell carcinoma(73.8%,31/42) and the adjacent normal renal tissue(14.3&,6/42)(X2=30.2,P<0.005).The positive rate of E-cadherin protein was significantly higher in renal cell carcinoma tissues (73.8%,31/42) than that in he adjacent normal renal tissue (38.1%,16/42)( X2=10.7, P<0.005).The correlation between the expression of Ezrin and E-cadherin is significant. The peotein expression of Ezrin and E-cadherin were correlated with lymph node involvement, venous tumor thrombus extention(P<0.05).There was no correlation between the expression of Ezrin and E-cadherin and the age, gender, size and TNMstage of renal cell carcinoma(P>0.05).Conclusion:Expression of Ezrin and loss of E-cadherin expression are significantly associated with tumor progression in renal cell carcinoma, Which are valuable markers predicting biological behavior and trend of metastasis of renal cell carcinoma.Expression of Ezrin and E-cadherin have correlation with lymph node involvement, venous tumor thrombus extention(P<0.05),and there was not correlation between the expression of Ezrin and E-cadherin and the age, gender, size and TNMstage of renal cell carcinoma(P>0.05).It suggested that Ezrin and E-cadherin might acted as an important role in development and metastasis of renal cell carcinoma.Co-detected the expression levels of the two proteins might be served as an important factor for determining tumor biological behavior,as well as clinical judgement for prognosis and metastasis.
