Reduction Aortoplasty V.S Replacement Of Ascending Aorta: The Advantages And Prognosis

Background and purpose:Both stenosis and regurgitation of aortic valve can cause dilated acsending aorta or even aneurysm. So how to deal with dilated acsending aorta is a important problem for cardiac surgeon.When it becomes dissection, the fatalness is tremendous.The task is aiming to analyse the advantages and prognosis of reducion aortoplasty comparing with composite replacement operation.Methods:We analyse the 32 patients who took the reduction aortoplasty operation with AVR in Shanghai Zhongshan Hospital Cardiac Surgery Department during September 2005 to September 2009.For comparison,we choose 32 patients who took composite replacement operation in our hospital during the same period as a comparison group.The time of cardiac-pulmary bypass,aortic blocking,the amount of blood using and days spending in CICU is considered between the two groups.The diameter of acsending aorta before and after the aortoplasty opertion is also analysed for the aortoplasty group.All the results are analysed by SPSS 17.0.Results:The difference in time of CPB and aortic blocking between the two group has no statistic meaning.The difference of using blood has statistic meaning.The difference in diameter between pre and post-operation has statistic meaning.Conclusion:Reduction aortaplasty can produse same therapeutic effect as replacement operation in near post-operation,and is even safer.Mid-term effect is good as the diameter of acsending aorta reduced.Long-term effect needs further research.
