Objectives To observe the safety and specificity of grip exercise test of exercise stress echocardiography about the patients with coronary artery stenoses due to atherosclerosis.Methods The hypothesis tested was that the patients with grip exercise test of exercise stress echocardiography could be specific. A total of 16 patients of diagnostic stenoses of coronary artery were chosen to the exam,9 male and 7 female, average age was (65.38±8.47) years old. They underwent the grip exercise test by echocardiography, and we could see if there was any episode or the systolic and diastolic left ventricular wall motion or heart rate or blood pressure would be changed during the test. The test would be called off if patient felt chest pain or with any related complain during the test. The echocardiography pictures were measured at rest and at peak exercise. To analyze the left ventricular systolic synchrony at the rest and peak heart rate, we always took the real-time echocardiography photos at the rest and peak heart rate and saved it. After exercise test, we followed up the results of coronary angiography and made more.Results There were 5 patients felt chest tightness during or after the test, and they recovered after taking a rest or Sublingual isosorbide mononitrate. There was no death or tarchycardia or shock or other major cardiovascular event occurred. The difference of heart rate and blood pressure before and after the test made sense of statistics (P<0.05).But the difference of the left ventricular systolic synchrony which was measured by real-time three-dimensional echocardiography 17 period of time-volume curve parameter was not significant (P>0.05). The result of CAG presented that the patients had a episode of chest tightness coronary artery stenosis(?) 75%. There were 3 lesions of 20%,2 lesions of 60%, refered coronary artery bradge graft of 20%, medicine treatmented of 20% in the patients with chest tightness.Conclusions The safety of grip exercise test of exercise stress echocardiography have been proved. The specificity and sensitivity of grip stress test took with coronary necroses patients which was measured by real-time three-dimensional echocardiography was negative, notice the exercise induced ischymia didn't effect the left ventricular systolic synchrony. There were 31.25% of the patients with coronary stenosis had chest tightness, and they all had the index to have intervened surgery. Isometric grip exercise test has potential to be the method to screen coronary artery desease.
