| Objective The purpose of the current study was to explore the Characteristics of Event Related Potential P300 among Male juvenile with violent crime. Methods Fifty pair male juvenile with violent and non-violent offence in Juvenile correctional facilities of Hunan Province are collected as study and control group respectively. In the meanwhile, fifty male high school students in one general middle school of Changsha city Hunan Province are chosen as the normal controls. All subjects in three groups are tested by Event Related Potential(ERP). The value of the latency and amplitude in every lead of ERP P300 is extracted for comparing and analyzing among three groups.Results1. The P300 latency of all leads in juvenile delinquents that have significantly difference(P<0.05) among three groups is that the value of the latency in the violent groups is longer than that of no-violent groups, meanwhile the value of the latency in the no-violent group is longer than that of the normal controls, especially in the leads of F3,F4,C3,C4,T3,T4.2. The P300 amplitude of all leads in juvenile delinquents that have significantly difference(P<0.05) among three groups is that the value of amplitude is lower than that of the normal controls, but no significantly difference(P>0.05) in the value of amplitude was found between the non-violent group and the other two groups.Conclusions1. The current study suggested that the male juvenile delinquents may have cognitive functional disorder, the violent juvenile delinquents may be more severe as comparing to the non-violent juvenile delinquents.2. Some cognitive dysfunction in frontal area, central parietal area and temporal area is found in male juvenile delinquents, the violent juvenile delinquents may be more severe than that of the non-violent juvenile delinquents.3. When measuring the level of cognitive dysfunction in male juvenile delinquents with P300, the value of latency is more stable and reliable than that of amplitude... |
