Abstract/Summary:
Objective:We used microvascular decompression as the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia, hemifacial spasm and glossopharyngeal neuralgia, then mearsured the culprit vessel diameter of trigeminal neuralgia, hemifacial spasm and glossopharyngeal neuralgia, defined the term of microvascular decompression in Chinese. Methods:Selecting 53 patients who were treated with MVD by Zhiquan Yang associated professor. We classified and measured the culprit vessel, and calculated the credibility interval of the diameter of the culprit vessel with T-distribution. The effect of MVD is confirmed by the follow-up visting from one to eight months.Results:48 of the 53 patients'symptoms disappeared, and the recovery rat is 90.6%.5 of the 53 patients'symptoms was relieved, the ration of relief is 9.4%. And the total efficient ration is 100%.28 of the 53 cases are TN, the recovery rat is 90.6%, and the ration of relief is 9.4%. The total efficient ration is 100%.23 of the 53 patients are HFS, and the recovery, the rat ration of relief, and the total efficient ration are respectively 90.6%,9.4%, and 100%.2 of the 53 patients are GPN. One of the two recovered, and the other relieved partly.Through measuring 37 patients'culprit vessel diameter,42 pieces of the culprit vessel diameter were collected, from 0.8-4.8mm, the mean diameter of each culprit vessel is 1.5mm±0.4mm (the stem of superior cerebeller artery),0.9mm±0.1mm(the branch of superior cerebeller artery),1.4mm±0.2mm (the stem of anterior inferior cerebellar artery), 1.0mm±0.1mm (the branch of anterior inferior cerebellar artery), 1.6mm±0.3mm(the stem of posterior inferior cerebellar artery), 1.0mm±0.1mm(the branch of posterior inferior cerebellar artery), 3.1mm±0.3mm(vertebral artery). The 95% credibility intervene of each culprit vessel diameter is 0.4-2.6mm (the stem of superior cerebeller artery),0.7-1.1mm (the branch of superior cerebeller artery),0.9-1.9mm (the stem of anterior inferior cerebellar artery),0.8-1.2mm (the branch of anterior inferior cerebellar artery),0.6-2.6mm (the stem of posterior inferior cerebellar artery),0.7-1.3mm (the branch of posterior inferior cerebellar artery),2.1-4.1mm (vertebral artery).Conclusion:1. MVD is a efficient and safe surgery for Cranial nerve root disease, such as trigeminal neuralgia, hemifacial spasm, glossopharyngeal neuralgia and so on.2. The diameter of the culprit vessel is larger than 0.3mm in TN, HFS, GPN.
