| Objective To investigate the relation between EphA2 protein expression and genesis, development, infiltration and metastasis of gastric adenocarcinoma.Methods The expression of EphA2 protein in 130 cases of gastro adenocarcinoma were detected by immunohistochemistry(SP),87cases normal gastric nucosa tissues were taken as control group.Results Expression of EphA2 protein in gastric adenocarcinoma were obviously higher than that in normal gastric mucosa (P<0.001). EphA2 protein were higly expression in endothelium of blood vessel of gastric adenocarcinoma compared to that in normal tissue (P<0.001). Over expression of EphA2 protein were correlated with differentiation grades, lymph node metastasis (P<0.001),but showed no relation to invasion depth and gross type of carcinoma(P value:0.174 and 0.90 respectively).Conclusion EphA2 protein is highly expressed in tissues of cancer and endothelium of blood vessel in gastric adenocarcinoma, may be related to tumor genesis, development, vessel growth in cancer and metastasis.
