The Current Situation And Developmental Strategy Of Chinese Herb Medicine Industry In Fujian Province

Endowed with unique geographical advantages, Fujian Province was abundant in Chinese herb medicine with a wide distribution and a range of variety; it has a long history of producing Chinese medicinal herbs and has great potentials. Recently, instructed by the policy of State industry, Fujian Province fastened its pace to develop Chinese herb medicine and made some remarkable achievements. At the same time, we should also realize some obstacles to the development of Chinese herb medicine. Chinese herb medicine industry is the base of Traditional Chinese Medicine industry, if we don't make a scientific and reliable assessment for the resources of Chinese herb medicine in Fujian Province so as to formulate a series of sustainable measures to protect and utilize it, it is in vain to develop Traditional Chinese Medicine. Therefore, Fujian Province needs to collect the most reliable data and grasp the industry research policy, which is important to promote the development of Chinese herb medicine industry in a sound and rapid way.This paper gives a detailed instruction to the history, resource, distribution, goal and significance of Chinese herb medicine in Fujian Province through field survey and data analysis from the related departments. Based on the facts, the author explained some problems to restricting the development of Chinese herb medicine of Fujian Province, such as pesticides ,heavy metal, raw material, inadequate protection of wild resources, small-scale GAP, single distribution, less application of science and technology, fake production, lack of top enterprises, low GAP building and marketing etc. According to these facts and the conditions of Fujian Province, the author put forward a series of proposals as follows: to formulate a development plan for Chinese herb medicine, to strengthen the protection and choiceness of medicine resources, to distribute advantage zone in a scientific way, to improve the quality of Chinese herb medicine, to reinforce the construction of demonstration base for herb medicine, to issue preferential policy for medicine production, to enhance technical development and personnel training, to strengthen the development for processing technology, to perfect organization and information service system, to strengthen the herb medicine cooperation both at home and abroad, to enhance the supervision and administration for herb medicine industry and to develop health feed for animals, while proposing to build several leading Chinese herb medicine projects such as"west strait"medicine industrial park, Fujian special Chinese herb medicine resource garden, demonstration base for special herb medicine and supporting the application of technology development.
