The Effect Of KanXianWan(KXW) In The Pentylenetetrazol Model Of The Chronic Epileptic Rats

Objective:To study the effect of KXW on PTZ-induced epileptic rats and investigate the related mechanisms from the point of amino-acid neurotransmitter in the brain tissue.Methods:60 SD rats were divided randomly into six groups. Slowly-kindling models were adapted.After drug-intervention, epileptic rat's behavior, pathologic changes and immunohistochemical changes were compared.Results:1. KXW effectively prolonged the potential time of epilepsy-attacks.It showed dosadge-depended effect between KXW and epilepsy-attack.2.The neuronal degeneration,lightly necrosis and Glue hyperplasia. But the damage was more serious in the model group.3. KXW increased the content of IAAs and decreased the content of EAAs. Conclusions:KXW can significantly improve epileptic rat's behavior and tissure damage of the neurons.Maybe it is part of the effective mechanism that KXW increased the content of IAAs and decreased the content of EAAs in Hippocampus and parietal lobe cortex.
